Brad Kremer
Originally from the great Southern state of Kentucky, Brad Kremer began his snowboard film career by making a team video for small clothing company in California. After spending one day shooting with Blaise Rosenthal, Tamus Ganon and Eden Carter, he sent the footage to Whitey at Kingpin Productions. Whitey liked the footage so much he used it for a mid-season release, Substance, and gave him a job!
After years of working for and learning from Whitey, Brad amassed a slue of projects he had worked on including, Brown Trout, Warriors, Kingpin Chronicles, The Revival, Destroyer, Brainstorm, Happy Hour, Back in Black and others. As Whitey left snowboarding, Brad’s hard work and talent paid off when Mike McEntire from Mack Dawg Productions (MDP) gave him a job. His first MDP project was Chulksmack which led to From ____, With Love in 2005, Follow Me Around in 2006 and Picture This, MDP’s latest release, in 2007.
In a September, 2006 interview with Tim Ostler on the Ride Utah site, Kremer said “My goal has always been to make the best snowboard film ever produced.” When asked about his formula for success, Brad replied, “to be a successful filmer in snowboarding, you need to be able to do so much more than film. You need to be able to work well with others and be a leader, a team manager of sorts. You need to be an excellent organizer to be able to plan and execute the right trips at the right time. You need to be the motivator to get the riders to stay stoked and get the shots, but also know not to cross the line. You need to let the snowboarders do what they do best. And you need to be a very hard worker. Filming snowboarding takes up SO much time, and you will have to make many sacrifices in your life for it. But the rewards are great if you want it.”
