So you might be wondering what exactly our staff and Signature Session™ riders do when they aren’t making the magic happen at High Cascade each summer.  Well, in 2013 the asnwer is winning awards and sweeping podiums.

Between the TransWorld Riders’ Poll Awards and Snowboarder Mag’s Rider of the Year issue, five HCSC staff and Signature Session™ riders walked away with an award or two (Jess Kimura), and two Signature Session™ riders were runners up for an award.

TransWorld Riders’ Poll Awards:
Jess Kimura, Signature Session™ Rider – Women’s Rider of the Year, Women’s Readers Choice Award
Desiree Melancon, HCSC Digger & Signature Session™ Rider – Women’s Video Part of the Year
Corinne Pasela, Signature Session™ Rider – Women’s Rookie of the Year
Brandon Cocard, Signature Session™ Rider- Runner Up Men’s Rookie of the Year
Pat Moore, Signature Session™ Rider- Runner Up Men’s Video part of the Year

Another huge victory for HCSC Signature Session™ riders were at the recent ESPN X Games and US Grand Prix. Snowboard monster and Signature Session™ rider Bode Merrill took home a Bronze medal in the X Games Real Snow Judges Vote, and HCSC K-Unit staff Jaeger Bailey almost made it to the podium with a 4th place in the X Games Snowboard Street event. Another X Games mention goes to Frends Session’s Scotty Lago, who barely missed the podium with an amazing 4th place in Men’s Halfpipe. Scotty went on to put down a perfect run and swooped up a silver medal at the Park City US Grand Prix just one week later. And speaking of Frends, Luke Mitrani has been running the US Grand Prix Half Pipe and with a Silver at the Copper Grand Prix and Bronze at the Park City Grand Prix, earning him 1st place overall in Halfpipe for the US Grand Prix Series. On the women’s side of things, Signature Session™ rider Spencer O’Brien went absolutely berserk on the X Games Slopestyle course and took home a well deserved Bronze medal in Women’s Slopestyle.

As for those not winning awards and sweeping podiums, we assure you they are off filming hammer video parts that will likely win them an award or two next year. Our staff and Signature Session™ riders are all very talented snowboarders and great people overall. Come to HCSC this summer to ride with them and experience eight of the best days of your life!
