Our favorite type of training is method grab trains.  ALL ABOARD!

The HCSC Team™ will work with their Coach and fellow Team Members three days each week to hone their skills in the parks at Mountain Creek.  Each Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday you will meet up with your coach in the HCSC Lodge™ to discuss where and what you want to ride on-hill.  When everyone is geared up for the day you will head out to lap the parks as a group.  The only thing better than the feeling of landing a new trick is landing it with your friends watching and the high fives that get thrown up after you throw down.  The HCSC Team™ is comprised of individuals who feed off each other and come together as a giant ball of energy that can’t be stopped!

The fun doesn’t stop when you finish riding for the day

As part of the Team you are welcome to take part in all activities in the HCSC Lodge™ along with free or discounted participation in our Workshops, Clinics, and Field Trips.  The HCSC Lodge™ is a home away from home for all of our Team riders and we welcome you to spend as much time as you like with the HCSC Staff, friends, and guests while we check out the latest snowboard videos, skate, work on edits, and hang out at South Mountain.  As an added bonus all HCSC Team™ Members are provided with a season-long locker to stash their snow and skate gear so you stay comfortable no matter what you are doing!  Lodge Life™ is the perfect way to compliment all the skills you learn and fun you have in the park by continuing it in the HCSC Lodge™.

Our Parks, Your Mountain

High Cascade has 24 years of experience of designing and building amazing snowboard parks at Mount Hood, Oregon.  We’re taking that same experience and bringing it to Mountain Creek to create the HCSC Mini-Park™.  We have worked closely with Marc Tremain (Mountain Creek Terrain Park Manager) and his Mountain Creek Park Staff to recreate our world-class facilities on-hill in New Jersey.  Many of the features you’ve ridden during the summer and seen in the HCSC Session Videos will be available for you to ride all winter long.

Options for every ability

An array of progressive features all arranged perfectly at South Mountain will please riders of all abilities and offer opportunity for you to learn new tricks or perfect the ones you already know.  Wether it be your first foray into the park or if you’re a seasoned veteran in the park; we’ve got you covered.  Located in The Gully on South Mountain you can choose to lap South Peak Express for the ultimate top-to-bottom park experience or you can take it old-school and hike a feature to maximize your hits and perfect your tricks.  Dynamic setups allow you to choose your own line and be creative with your riding; you can ride our park all day and never take the same route twice!

Our park is for you, the rider

We wouldn’t play tennis with wiffle ball bats or try to eat spaghetti with a spoon.  The same mentality dictates that we should design and build each feature in the HCSC Mini-Park™ with snowboarding in mind.  With our features you will learn to ollie onto rails, pop off the lips of jumps, and maximize the skills you have available as a snowboarder.  While our park may be loved by all snow sport enthusiasts we aim to best serve you, the rider, by providing the ultimate park experience.  It is what we love to ride and we know you will, too.

The ultimate clubhouse

We wouldn’t be providing the full High Cascade experience without including our incredible off-hill programming.  For us snowboarding is much more than just what you do on your board; it’s a lifestyle that allows you to pursue your individual interests with friends.  The HCSC Lodge provides a space for like-minded snowboarders to come together in one location at the hill and take part in HCSC off-hill activities, clinics, workshops, read the latest snowboard magazines, check out the newest skate and snowboard videos, group up and session the indoor skate bowl, or just kick back and relax after a long day in the park.

New Jersey’s snowboard epicenter

Located at the base of the South Mountain at Mountain Creek the HCSC Lodge is a portal to New Jersey’s snowboard world.  Our coaches, staff, guest pros, HCSC Team members, and many more influential members of the industry can be found in the HCSC Lodge getting ready for a productive day on-hill, unwinding after a heavy video shoot in the HCSC Mini-Park, doing some mid-day snack fueling, or participating in scheduled activities.  In addition to regularly scheduled activities we offer workshops and clinics that bring pillars of the industry in to teach and demonstrate their skills so you can follow in their footsteps.  Wether it be a photo workshop, park design clinic, or a class on proper board tuning technique you will be learning new skills in an inviting environment while having fun at the same time.

[SlideDeck2 id=10097]

With so many off-hill options you may not even go snowboard!

Just kidding.  But seriously; at High Cascade we consider off-hill activities to be a very close #2 to snowboarding’s #1 priority (they’re really more like a #1½).

Arts & Crafts

This isn’t your traditional macaroni necklace camp arts & crafts session.  We’ve got the supplies and know-how to jump start your creativity and lay the groundwork for your future art career.  Camper A&C favorites include making your own custom buttons, collage layout, paper crafting, designing and producing die-cut stickers, tie-dye, bleach art, snowboard product design, snowboard park design, clothing customization, and the paper plane hybrid A&C/contest.  Most arts & crafts supplies are available to campers all day and make for a great way to wind down from snowboarding when waiting for your ride to pick you up from the mountain.

Skateboarding

The HCSC Lodge™ is within eyeshot of Mountain Creek’s famous indoor skate bowl.  Our staff host beginner and advanced skate clinics so regardless of your skill level you’ll be pumping around the bowl with us in no time.  Don’t have a skateboard?  Don’t worry; we’ve got a few loaners and pads you can borrow to minimize any bumps and bruises you may have while getting pitted in transition.

Workshops and clinics

We’ve reached out to our friends in the snowboard industry to come to the HCSC Lodge™ to give you some insight into what they do and how they do it.  Learn to shoot great photos at a Photography workshop, wax and file your board to race-ready perfection in a Board Tuning clinic, design your fantasy snowboard park in a Park and Feature Design Workshop, bring all your shots together and take over the internet in a Video Editing Workshop, and much more right all in the HCSC Lodge™.  Our workshops and clinics delve a little deeper into the behind-the-scenes elements of the snowboard world to give you peek behind the curtain.  If you are interested in a future in snowboarding that doesn’t involve flipping and spinning your way into videos and podiums this is a great way to get started on your road to success.  All of our workshops and clinics are informative and hands-on; in addition to learning you will receive instruction and help in creating your own projects.  Keep your eyes on our Dates & Prices page for the current schedule and availability.

Positive and outgoing

Many of our staff are amazing snowboarders but at High Cascade that isn’t enough; we actively recruit people who are amazing both on AND off their boards.  The primary question we ask ourselves for each applicant is “Do you want to hang out with this person all day every day of the week?  If the answer isn’t a resounding YES! then we move on to the next application.  We do this to ensure that you have positive time spent with each and every High Cascade employee.  Our employees don’t just turn negatives into positives, they turn positives into the best time of your life.

Informed and passionate about snowboarding

All of our staff work at High Cascade because they love to snowboard.  Wether a sunny park day or stormy pow day you’ll find us chomping at the bit to get on-hill to lay down some turns, jib, and jump until our legs tell us it is time to stop.  Along with riding our staff also love to teach and discuss all aspects of snowboarding from analyzing the latest videos to laying down the perfect layer of wax on our boards and brainstorming new tricks to try on the slopes.  We came into our jobs with a deep love of snowboarding and use working at High Cascade as a way to share and continue that love day in and day out.

Well rounded skills and interests

Our staff are dedicated to snowboarding but that is not all we do!  We play music, enjoy watching and participating in other sports, work on art, go to school, surf the web, and much more.  Whatever interests you may have outside of snowboarding are common with many of our staff.

Standards, expectations, and training

We hold all HCSC at Mountain Creek staff to the same high standards and expectations we require from our summer employees.  We also provide them with the same level of training and education so they are well equipped to meet our high expectations.  You can expect the same level of safety, education, professionalism, and fun from our staff regardless of the location.
