Monday, August 8th, 2011

Here’s what you have all been waiting for… The Session 5 Recap™!

This recap is on point! Check it out and see what exactly went down during the sunniest session that we’ve had all summer. It was sooooooo nice!

Sunny Sunny Session 5

Monday, August 1st, 2011

Well Session 5 has come to a close, but boy was it a great one! It was the sunniest session that we have had all summer! The weather finally decided to come out and greet us with a big sun smile, and we are glad that it did. It was so warm out today that a few of the staff decided that they wanted to go surfing instead of snowboarding!

But that’s not all the action that we saw on hill, oh no, not by a long shot! There were also handplants galore getting thrown down in the mini-pipe today. Look at how proper Forum Snowboards pro, and long time Signature Sessioner™ Pat Moore’s hand plants are!

We know you have seen the Session recaps™, and most of you have seen a Session video or two in your days, but did you know that Tanner Pendalton, the mastermind behind both, is an amazing snowboarder? Well you do know!

Do you like the all of HCSC’s advertisements? Think they have cool photos? Well those are all the work of High Cascasde Snowboard Camps marketing photographer Aaron Blatt. Not only is he an amazing photographer, but man that guy can shred like the best of them. Look at this Andrecht!

Off the hill things only got hotter. We had the marshmallow drop today. The person who can catch a marshmallow in their mouth from the 3ed story balcony gets a free snowboard. How cool is that?

Later in the day we had the Signature Sessioners™ sign tons of autographs and we all made smore’s. It was tons of fun!

The giveaway went off again like usual. We gave away a ton of boards!

But this time there was a twist! Hope these guys brought a towel!

Man, Session 5 was so much fun! We have one Session left this summer. Come join us and be a part of all the exciting action that happens here every single day!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Moment You Have All Been Waiting For…

That’s right, the Session 3 Recap™!!! This one is hot fire, prepare to be amazed!!!

Rain Stinkss!!!!!!

Wednesday, July 13th, 2011

So, unfortunately we had a rain day today. Fortunately for everyone, High Cascade is the most fun place to be on the entire planet, so it wasn’t a big deal at all! A bunch of us went Bowling and to see Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon in 3D! Man that movie was a trip. So much action!

Bowling was super fun too! Bowling may not sound like the most exciting activity ever, but man is it fun once you get into it!

Tonight was also our All Camp Giveaway™! Campers walked away with tons of amazing prizes! Everything from bags and hats

to a ton of snowboards! This guy got Curtis Ciszeks board for doing an awesome method.

These guys battled it out in the world famous Rock, Paper, Scissors™ battle for a board. These three were the super lucky winners and they were so hyped! We gave away 2 awesome boards from Salomon, and Signature Sessioner™ Hana Beaman gave away an awesome Ride board.

Pat Moore also gave away a sick Forum snowboard to a super lucky camper!

There were also autographs being signed left and right!

Session 3
was such awesome time! We had plenty of awesome weather, awesome boarding, and awesome times! We really are going to miss everyone from Session 3!!!!

It’s Missile Time, Baby!!!!!

Tuesday, July 12th, 2011

Today on hill it was all about the DC Missile. This awesome feature used to be at the world famous DC Mountain Lab, before it’s untimely demise. However since the Mountain Lab is no more, the missile is now in our park, and it got absolutely annihilated today. Check out Coach Eric Beauchemin and Demo guy Tanner McCarty, and see how they put a real hurting on the missile. WMD, we think not. It was more like a bunch of SCMD’s™ (shredders causing massive destruction).

The missile however was not the only feature getting slaughtered today. The quarter-pipe was also getting plenty of action. Check out the man behind the Ham Van, Skylar Brent, throwing down a mean hand plant!

The Log on top of the quarter-pipe was also shredded so hard today that it started to splinter up. OK, so it didn’t really start to splinter up, but some totally awesome tricks were done on it today!

Off the mountain we also had some amazing things go down. Today we made HCSC history. How did we make history you ask? Well today we had our very first, High Cascade Jousting Tournament! Campers of all ages came down to see just how truly amazing HCSC jousting really is. It’s so much fun! Just check it out for yourself!

Even Signature Sessioner™ Pat Moore got in on the action!

And no, he definitely did not win!

The winners of the first ever HCSC Jousting Tournament were so pumped! They got awesome prizes from Electric, Four Square, Eastern Boarder, and Under Armour!

The Jousting Tournament wasn’t the only first that we had at HCSC today though. We also had our first sailing expedition in the lake today. Signature Sessioners™ Austin Smith, and Curtis Ciszek brought their Hobie Cat Sail Boats and set off onto the open lake with a bunch of campers. Counselor Chelsea captured the images. Thanks Chelsea!

After jousting and sailing, it was time for the world famous Marshmallow Money Cup™, aka The Contest Formally Known as the Huckleberry Jam™. This contest was one of the most fierce skate contests the HCSC street course had ever seen!

These campers tore up the 15,000 sq foot street course like it was nothing! They were absolute skateboard animals. It was out of this world. Just look for yourself.

The crowd of campers went absolutely wild for this sessions Marshmallow Money Cup™!

And in the end, it was this handful of amazingly talented skaters who took home the top prizes in all of the different divisions. We had beginner, girls, intermediate, and advanced divisions. They all got amazing prizes, and the winner from the advanced group took home a brand new Skate Mental deck from Eastern Boarder.

After skating in such an intense competition, there really is no better way to cool off than with an awesome camp fire and some delicious s’mores!

Tomorrow it’s the LDOH™ (last day on hill) for Session 3, and it’s guaranteed to be an awesome one. So check back and see what kind of action goes down!

The Most Action Packed Activity Day in HCSC History!

Monday, July 11th, 2011

That’s right, we said it! Today was the most action packed Activity Day™ that we’ve had all summer. On hill, Signature Sessioner™ Pat Moore

was putting on a proper hand-plant clinic with Campers, giving out awesome prizes for awesome plants.

Pat is a hand-plant wizard.

Campers got totally awesome gear from Volcom, Electric, and Eastern Boarder. They were so hyped!

The Bag Jump was also going off today! Imagine trying any trick you could ever imagine, and having absolutely no consequences at all if you fell. Are you imagining that? Because that’s exactly what hitting the Bag Jump is like!

All of the action on-hill was just the tip of the ice berg though. So much stuff happened off hill that it was almost too exciting to even comprehend! Campers went on a skatepark tour to Battlegrounds skatepark in Battlegrounds, Washington. The Battlegrounds park is seriously one of the best skateparks in the North West. It’s so much fun! The Campers were ripping the park up too!

But the action didn’t stop with the skatepark tour, oh no. We also had a extreme game of dodge ball today! The Campers side was hungry and really wanted to stack the W

But they were no match for the sheer talent, and determination of the Staff team!

The final count ended up being Staff 2, Campers 2. Close, but no cigar Campers. Maybe next time. That was almost all of the excitement today, but we still had one more, giant, event to cap off the evening. We still had the world famous Staff Sale™!
The Staff Sale™ is crazy. Once a session, the street course turns into a Moroccan bizarre, and the craziest haggling you could ever imagine happens. Campers can walk away with perfectly good snowboards for 40 dollars!

Tomorrow should be just as action packed! We have the Marshmallow Money Cup™ skateboard contest, as well as our world famous Talent Show™. So we doubt you want to miss out on all of the action!

Clouds? Clouds? We Don’t Need No Stinkin’ Clouds!

Saturday, July 9th, 2011

That’s right, it was perfectly bluebird today. It was just the type of day that you always imagine summer snowboarding to be, perfectly sunny, and totally awesome! Just look at how perfect the mountain looked!

Not only was the sun shining, and the snow abundant, but our park features were laid out to perfection! Here’s a little peak of what we have going on right now.

Just look at how faultless those down-bars are. They got sessioned like nobodies business today too. Just worked to oblivion by all the campers and staff up on hill.

Out of all of the features on the hill today, the Medium Jump™ was by far the most popular. Look at how hard everyone was destroying the jump. We are pretty sure that almost every trick was done over it today.

There was a definite Signature Sessioner™ Pat Moore Sighting at the Medium Jump™. Man does that guy rip!

If these photos still aren’t giving you enough proof that the Medium Jump™ was insane today, then these video clips for sure will. The first one is of coach Ben Bogart.

This next clip is of Signature Sessioner™ Bryan Fox.

If you think that all the action was on the Medium Jump™, and that no one hit the Big Jump™, then you are dead wrong buddy. Check out this shot of coach Seth Hill crushing our Big Jump™ in our amazing Private snowboard park.

Girls Signature Sessioner™ Hana Beaman was also up there riding around with everyone.

She was really getting all of the girls pumped, and motivated to push their snowboarding to new levels. Just look at how high this girl camper soared off of the Medium Jump™!

HCSC really is a great place for girls to come and ride in a super stress free environment. HCSC girl™ provides a great atmosphere for girls to have tons of fun, and get to meet, and snowboard with a ton of new friends!

If you thought all of the action was solely on the hill, well than think again. Today marked a very important day in High Cascade Snowboard Camp off hill activities. Today we opened our official Jousting™ course over the Foam Pit™. Just imagine that this is you:

Well ok, ok, it’s not on horses, and it’s with over-sized foam lances, but it is super fun!

We also had our Signature Sessioner™ activity today. The activity was learning how to screen press t shirts. Signature Sessioners™ Bryan Fox and Austin Smith helped everyone screen print shirts for their new movement, the Drink Water movement. Bryan,Austin, and Signature Sessioner™ Curtis Ciszek love water, and want all of you out there to love water too. Look at how awesome the shirts everyone made turned out!

Tomorrow we have the infamous High Cascade Staff Sale™. Check back tomorrow to see totally radical tricks, and totally radical deals on gear, given out by the dudes who are throwing down the totally radical tricks!!!!!!!!

We’re Back!!!!

Friday, July 8th, 2011

The mountain was calling everyone’s name for FDOH (First Day On Hill). The campers were stoked to get to ride with their new Coaches, and learn some super rad new tricks.

The action was going off up on the Hill today. The Mini-pipe was perfect, Demo guy Tanner McCarty was was going berserk in it!

The down flat down kink bar was also getting plenty of action today. Now this is proper front board!

Off the hill, the action was just as awesome™. We had a cool tye dye activity. Campers got some free T shirts, and tye dyed them and made them look really cool! Check out how cool this Yobeat T shirt is now that it’s tye dyed!

The Celtek drawing banner was getting a bunch of use today. Drawing RULES!!!!

We also had a cool friendship bracelet making activity tonight! Look at how good of friends everyone is now that they all have matching bracelets.

After all the exciting activities, it was time for dinner. Dinner was awesome, Pat Moore showed up and brought his little friend Lola too.

After dinner, boys became men, and girls became women, because we had the worlds most fierce game of Dodge Ball ever! It seriously was one of the most intense games we have seen all summer.

Can you spot a Signature Sessioner™ on the campers side??

Tomorrow is supposed to be even nicer than today, so get excited! Check back here to see all of the action that is, High Cascade Snowboard Camp.
