Friday, June 17th, 2011It was just like the Ice Cube song.
The day started out with all of the Campers meeting their Coaches out on the street course. After that it was Snowboard time!!!! All of the groups headed up to the top of the Magic Mile at Timberline, on beautiful Mt.Hood, and then proceeded down to our 2 Private Parks!!!
The snow right now is absolutely amazing, and the snowboarding today was just insane! Just look at this photo of Coach Kyle Fischer, and remember it’s only day one of the summer!!!
The Signature Sessioners™ were also all out shredding as well today. One Signature Sessioner™ who was killing it especially hard was Jed Anderson. He is a snowboard obstacle destroyer!!
But the on-hill day portion of the day was only the beginning as to why today was a Good Day. Today was also totally radical because today was the grand opening of Pizza Party!!!!
Pizza Party is run by K2 rider Tim Eddy
and Hannah Fuller, and man do they make some delicious ‘za! Take a look!
No customer was left unsatisfied. Just look at Devin:
He was Pizza Party’s number 1 customer, and he was pumped!!
Now everything we have just talked about is totally cool and all, but if you think just Shredding, and the opening of Pizza Party is all that made today a Good Day, a Good Day, then man you have another thing coming buddy. Today was also a Good Day because the Capita Snowboards Super Team came by the High Cascade street course to give all the HCSC campers a very special auto-graph signing.
Capita’s entire team was there, and that includes Jess Kimura, Andrew Burns, Phil Jacques, Dan Brisse, Laura Hadar, Brenden Cocard, Cale Zima, and Scott Stevens. Man that’s a lot of pros!!!

DODGEBALL!!!!!!!
Man, today really was just a Good Day. It was so good that we here at HCSC are just wiped out and really have to get some sleep!!! We have to rest up and get ready for some more amazing things that are bound to happen tomorrow. So check back and see what other amazing things happen at High Cascade Snowboard Camp!
Session 5 is going to be a Peep Show…
Wednesday, June 1st, 2011This summer Session 5 is the Peep Show Signature Session™ . For those that don’t quite know what the Peep Show session entails, it’s the session where some of the most up and coming girl rail and jump riders get together and snowboard with all of you! That includes Laura Hadar, Marie Hucal, Desiree Melancon (who also works at HCSC), and Coleen Quigley ( She does too). So come and hang with all these chicks and have a ton of fun!

Session 5: The Videograss Session Kicks Off

A High Cascade 15 Passenger Chariot pulling into the Session 5 Stable. Unload bags. Check In. Let the good times roll.
The whole Videograss gang is here for Mikey LeBlanc, Darrell Mathes, Laura Hadar and Desiree Melancon’s Signature Session™. The agenda for the week is looking pretty all time with the Videograss world premier for “Bon Voyage” going down Thursday Night at the High Cascade Theater (shhh! it’s a secret, so please don’t spread the word).
Justin Bennee, LNP, Alex Cantin, the Hacker brothers, Louif Paradise, Johnny Miller, Jordan Mendenhall, Will Tuddenham, Chris Grenier, Harrison Gordon and Nick Dirks are lurking around camp all week putting on special on-hill clinics, activities and more.
Of note: this session is a Signature Session™ Size World Record.
High Cascade's staff ready to get Session 5 rolling
We’re also sooooooooooo psyched that a few long time HCSC family members brought a few groups to camp. Ex-counselor Mike Ramirez is here with the Mammoth Mountain Snowboard Team and ex-coach Nick Nagel is here with the Winter Park Team. Plus, a group from the Chill foundation will be our guests this session… it’s going to be a blast.
Hopefully this guy knew he was awesome before getting a camper shirt at check-in. At least now he has a shirt to prove it.
Campers getting their sticker jobs ready for tomorrow: FDOH (that's First Day On Hill to the lay person) - one guy was so excited his face started to blur... but Nurse Greg fixed him.
Lead Cook Jake grilling up some shiskabobs at the BBQ. Fresh, local organic food from Mt. Hood Produce in Hood River, OR... No big deal - the K-Unit holds it down.
This is our 100% snowboarder packed crew! The Session 5 gang seems like an amazing group. Good times guaranteed.
Assistant Camp Director Adam Kisiel (aka Kisiel) keeps tabs on perhaps the most heated game of RPS (rock, paper scissors) of the summer. Camper Griffin vs. Signature Sessioner™ (and HCSC Digger!) Desiree Melancon (Des won!).
You could scour the face of this planet - and you'd be hard pressed to find a better human to spend 8 days of your life with than this man: TIM EDDY. Tim and his coaching group coming up with a game plan for Session 5.
