Super New Airbag from the Folks at Bagjump!

Thursday, April 14th, 2011

After the success of having The DC Mtn. Lab’s airbag in 2010, we’re stepping things up, and adding our very own authentic Bagjump™ bag to our Main Park. Our custom graphics will have you landing in a giant Marshmallow-hug after every trick. Check the mock-up…

Ever wondered how they test these things? Look at this dude. Bagjumps are rated to a 115’ free fall! So feel free to really pop off that jump this summer…

Girls, Girls, Girls

Thursday, April 14th, 2011

We know you’re out there, chick boarders, so get those buns to camp! Many girls think that a summer snowboard camp must be geared towards male snowboarders and leave female riders just tagging along… Never to fear, High Cascade has a ton of girl-centric activities and clinics in our HCSC Girl program!

HCSC Girl is our way to warmly welcome and encourage girls in a supportive snowboarding mini-all-girl-world within the friendly confines of a co-ed camp. Every session we offer optional all-girl activities, all-girl skate clinics, all-girl snowboard clinics, and sometimes the occasional girls only video premiers. Sure it’s fun to show off for the boys, but sometimes you need girl time to perfect your moves in a low pressure setting.

With the help of our amazing female staff, let your hair down, be yourself, make new friends, and learn sweet new tricks.

Don’t worry girls, we don’t completely segregate you from the boys at camp….you can still hang with the boys if that’s your style.

You go, HCSC Girl!

Help HCSC Help Japan (Please)

Thursday, April 14th, 2011

For nearly 2 decades, HCSC has offered special summer camp programs for Japanese shredders. From staff members to campers, we’ve formed some amazing Japanese friendships throughout the years, and it breaks our hearts to see our friends in Japan suffering.

100% of the proceeds from these shirts and stickers go to the Japanese Red Cross to help get our friends and extended family back on track!

A special thanks to OSI, our Portland, OR screen printer for collaborating on this t-shirt with us. Please, visit our Camp Store to buy a shirt now.

Check out this Japanese game show inspiration for a potential new HCSC Marshmallow activity (FYI – if you do not smile/laugh during this video, you might not be human).

Over the Age of 20? Don’t Miss Adult Camp.

Thursday, April 14th, 2011

If you’re over the age of 20 years-old, love snowboarding, need a vacation, like learning new things, meeting new people, and enjoying a good time: you’re going to want to join us at camp this summer. Trust us: the best part about being over-the-hill is the ride back down, and HCSC is here to make your ride a blast.

Don’t believe us? See for yourself, watch this video!

After countless years of offering two adult sessions each summer, we broke new ground in 2011 and offered a third adult session. Session 1 is already sold out, which still leaves you two sessions to choose from; Session 5 and 6!

USASA Wraps up Winter ’10/’11!

Tuesday, March 15th, 2011

Throughout the winter High Cascade likes to stay involved in snowboarding by sponsoring various contest series across the country.  One of these series is USASA, which has contests at resorts all over the country, culminating this winter at the USASA Nationals at Copper Mountain, CO. This series is such a great asset to the snowboarding community, and the efforts of the USASA and its regions have enabled men and women, and boys and girls of all ages to participate in its organized events.  32 regional series are established from coast to coast, so there’s bound to be a USASA event near you, wherever you are!

One of the USASA series that HCSC supports is the Appalachian Series on the East coast.  This series finished last weekend with one winner walking away with an especially awesome prize; a free session at camp this summer! Matthew, shown above, walked away with a check for the time of his life. Congrats go to Matt and all of the other USASA competitors who made this season totally awesome and big thanks go out to all of the USASA series supervisors in the various regions!  We will see some of you at the 22nd Annual USASA National Championships coming up in a couple weeks, good luck competitors!

Please visit www.usasa.org for more information about USASA, Nationals, its regions and becoming a member!

Who Says Facebook is Worthless?

Tuesday, March 8th, 2011

Mar. 9, 2011- Straight from the desk of Rian Rhoe at Bonfire/Salomon

This was tough… 278 comments, tons of likes, pleas, jokes, arguments and dreams. We wish we could give everyone a free session at HCSC but there will be only 1 winner.

So who will it be? Liam Robinson and Katie Polese made it into the finalists simple because they had so many friends like their comments. Jay Kuzma, we heard you. You definitely got recognized as the guy who was willing to try as many times as possible to win this thing. And lots of you made us laugh with clever comments and good jokes. Edo Noyrys commented all the way from Barcelona and had tons of friends like his comment. Anna Uthe your straight forward style caught our attention too.

The winners’ friends took it one step beyond just hitting the like button. Jed & Chris were stoked that this kid seemed to really want it and his friends have his back.

The winner is Mikey Trueherz. Congratulations!! You win!!!! Make sure to thank your friends.

Contact rian.rhoe@bonfiresnowboarding.com for what to do next.

Thanks to everyone who entered! Stay tuned on facebook and salomonsnowboards.com for more contests and giveaways.

Finalists Liam Robinson, Katie Polese, Jay Kuzma, Edo Noyrys and Anna Uthe email your shipping address and t-shirt size to rian.rhoe@bonfiresnowboarding.com for a little prize pack of your own.

Thanks Everyone!
