Has Snowboarding Been Around Since 1939?

Welp it seems so!  Although many folks think of snowboarding starting with the Sherman Poppen and the Snurfer (1965), mid westerner Gunnar Burgson and his co-inventor buddies (Harvey Burgeson and Vern Wicklund) were sliding sideways  as early as 1939.  This video is awesome…

Sadly they were in their 70′s and 80′s in 1989 when HCSC started and never got to shred with us.

Here's an Original! Photo from Don Burgson (son). They called them "Bunkers" not Snowboards - but they still shredded them.
