This session’s Gnu Girls activity was a magical egg drop. Well, the eggs were not full of magic, but the girls made magical contraptions to keep their egg safe. This activity is definitely a throwback to elementary school. Except the winner received a Gnu snowboard, not just a gold star.
The girls were split into teams of three, to come up with a design out of the supplies they were given. (Construction paper, marshmallows, rubber bands, tape, and yarn). The goal was to keep their egg safe. Safe enough to withstand being dropped off the second, third, and fourth story of Boardwalk.
Teams were eliminated as their egg broke. Only a few teams got out on the first drop. The second drop, off the third story, broke a lot of eggs. After the final drop, off the fourth story, the girls anxiously sprinted up the check on their eggs. Three teams were delighted to see that their egg withstood such a long fall onto asphalt! The judges, including Jamie Anderson, decided that there was only one way to designate a winner. Magical chairs. Or is it musical chairs? Either way, it was a little too intense to be pictured below. So here’s the winner with her brand new Gnu B-Nice! She’s going to have a blast on that board tomorrow!!
