Early Bird™ Gets The Worm

The Action Continues

What does your August consist of? Here at High Cascade Snowboard Camp we are still doing what we do best, which is change lives through the acts of snowboarding and skateboarding. Can you believe it’s mid august and our exclusive park is debatably better than ever. Looking through the park at any moment throughout the day you can see campers and staff pushing the boundaries of snowboarding before your very eyes. High Cascade is a place where snowboarding progresses drastically every day. This is possible because of our top of the line facilities, park staff, camp staff, campers and attitudes of everyone that encompasses camp. Take a look at some photos from the last three days on hill.

Getting pitted…so pitted! And dropping…dropping in!

The girls got so extreme this session!  Everyone had a blast at the all girl activities!  On day 3, we experienced one of the most progressive and fun gatherings at the foam pit:

Everyone learned how to throw front and back flips

Getting "flip certified", to be able to learn flips on the Bag Jump on hill

Then, later in the session, all girls’ skate went down.  All girls’ skate has always been a favorite activity for the girl campers and staff!  Everyone learned some new tricks.  And more importantly, the girls that had never skated before can now go home with some basic maneuvers.  Maneuvers that will allow them to continue to skate and get better!

All Girl Activities: Gnu and Roxy!

Yesterday, it was a double whammy of two of the most heavy hitting activities at camp.  As if snowboarding above the clouds all day wasn’t enough!  In the afternoon, the girls relaxed with the Roxy arts and crafts activity…”Tees and Tepees”!  They all created some very amazing desktop tepees.  And everyone got a Roxy tee shirt for participating.

After “Tees and Tepees”, the girls refueled with some awesome pizza from the kitchen.  Then, they all participated in the Gnu “Let’s Make Magic” activity!  If you haven’t been following the blog…well, you’ve been missing out.  It’s alright though, because you will be filled in.  The Gnu activity is an egg drop!  Each team of three has to build something in which to keep their egg safe.  Safe enough to be dropped from each level of Boardwalk!  The teams that survived all three levels had to battle for the Gnu B Nice snowboard, by doing an egg toss.  We finally narrowed down a winner.  It was Sloane!  A huge shout out to Olivia too!

This is Crazy…

The energy at High Cascade right now is all time. Signature sessioners Chris Grenier, Scott Stevens, Bode Merrill and Jess Kimura are SERIOUSLY turning up the heat here at Mt. Hood. Wasting no time you can find these guys and girl skateboarding, tramp boarding, and “letting the hoof breath..” on hill. If you’re not sure what this term means, take a look at the photo below of Bode Merrill demonstrating…

There’s been a few guys joining us this session, one of them being the one and only Jed Anderson. Watching Jed snowboard you get reassurance that this guy is definitely one of the best snowboarders in the world. You can find him cruising through our exclusive park hitting every rail and even boosting higher than anyone else on our quarter pipe. Check out this air to fakie…

Don’t forget about our staff! Brandon Reis is a coach here at High Cascade and is not shy on his snowboard. In this photo Brandon is hipping the quarter pipe to begin the day. Watching this at eleven in the morning is awesome.

And So They Doth Sail into Battle!!!

And so’th the battle of the Gnu Girls Pirates took place on thy ole’ jousting post! The battle was rigorous and fierce!

Many Gnu Girl Pirates ended up in the treacherous, dreaded foam!

The prize for becoming victorious was a brand new Gnu Park Pickle! In the end it was Ali who was the ultimate victor.

She was handsomely rewarded by Gnu team rider Bryn Valaika.

There is only one more challenge the Gnu Girls Pirates must face this summer. Check back here later to see just exactly they must do! May mercy be on their side!

Sunny Sunny Session 5

Well Session 5 has come to a close, but boy was it a great one! It was the sunniest session that we have had all summer! The weather finally decided to come out and greet us with a big sun smile, and we are glad that it did. It was so warm out today that a few of the staff decided that they wanted to go surfing instead of snowboarding!


But that’s not all the action that we saw on hill, oh no, not by a long shot! There were also handplants galore getting thrown down in the mini-pipe today. Look at how proper Forum Snowboards pro, and long time Signature Sessioner™ Pat Moore’s hand plants are!

We know you have seen the Session recaps™, and most of you have seen a Session video or two in your days, but did you know that Tanner Pendalton, the mastermind behind both, is an amazing snowboarder? Well you do know!

Do you like the all of HCSC’s advertisements? Think they have cool photos? Well those are all the work of High Cascasde Snowboard Camps marketing photographer Aaron Blatt. Not only is he an amazing photographer, but man that guy can shred like the best of them. Look at this Andrecht!

Off the hill things only got hotter. We had the marshmallow drop today. The person who can catch a marshmallow in their mouth from the 3ed story balcony gets a free snowboard. How cool is that?

Later in the day we had the Signature Sessioners™ sign tons of autographs and we all made smore’s. It was tons of fun!


The giveaway went off again like usual. We gave away a ton of boards!

But this time there was a twist! Hope these guys brought a towel!

Man, Session 5 was so much fun! We have one Session left this summer. Come join us and be a part of all the exciting action that happens here every single day!!!!!!!!!!!!
