Wednesday, July 6th, 2011Because the Gnu Girl’s Pirate games returned during Session 2, and we know for sure they are going to come back and drop anchor during Session 3! This past Session the contest was on the mountain. There was an extremely fierce, and extra awesome medium jump contest for the lady pirates.
The ladies were riding like they were trying to get rid of their scurvy. Girls were absolutely shredding!
Everyone was so pumped to be up there riding in the Gnu Pirates game.
But in the end, everyone was out for the bounty. The bounty this session was a Gnu Park Pickle. One board, for one winner. And in the end, the judges were completely perplexed!
In the end however it was Emily coming in 3ed place with some huge 180′s and stylish grabs. In 2nd place, it was Amelia, with some really awesome 360′s and some huge 180′s. But there could only be one winner, one finder of the treasure and the bounty, and that was Emma. Emma was spinning off the jump in all four directions, and stomping tricks left and right!
Everyone was so pumped with their stickers!!!!!
And Emma was sooooooo pumped on the Gnu Park Pickle. Can’t wait to see what the Gnu Lady Pirates come up with for Session 3!!!

The Action Never Stops at High Cascade!!!!!!!
Saturday, July 2nd, 2011Earlier today we showed you some action shots from on the mountain. Well there was so much more exciting things that happened after snowboard that we just had to come back and show you! During dinner tonight we had our World Famous Marshmallow Drop. Basically the premise of the Marshmallow Drop is that two people stand on the ground at Boardwalk, and two staff member drop marshmallows into their mouth. The first round is on the 2nd floor, than 3ed, and finally fourth.
If you can make it all the way through, and you are the last one left then you win a snowboard! Easy as that! This Session the camper with the biggest mouth (literally he was able to catch the ‘mallow) was Tristan! Preston, the Camp Director™ also made it to the end, but since he owns camp, he couldn’t win a board. So For Tristan’s trouble he got a brand new Salomon Salomonder Snowboard! How cool is that!
Following the Marshmallow Drop, it was time for the World Famous Giveaway™! We gave away so much gear today it was totally insane!!!! Check out how pumped everyone was!!!
The Frends crew was also around giving out even more gear! It was really awesome having all of these guys around! All of us at HCSC are going to miss them!
The lady Signature Sessioners™ were hanging out with all of us too, eating smores and telling jokes!
Earlier this Session, a bunch of campers designed a board. If you don’t remember check out the photos.
Well Signature Sessioner™ Elena Hight was able to have these boards pressed! She gave away two custom made Volcom snowboards to two super lucky dudes! Both of their names were Tyler and they were STOKED!!!!!!!!!
The infamous rock, paper, scissor battle for boards was the night cap for the Giveaway. These four lucky souls ended up with brand new snowboards. Man are they hyped!!
Man oh man we really are going to miss all of our Session 2 campers! This session really was one for the books!
Who Loves the Sun?
Friday, July 1st, 2011We do! High Cascade Snowboard Camp, that’s who!
Especially the Session 2 campers! While we may have had a little bit of less than desirable weather this Session, we certainly had a banger of a LDOH™ ( that stands for Last Day On Hill). The sun was shining so bright all day, and there was not a single cloud in the sky as far as the eye could see. The mountain looked amazing!
Everywhere you looked, sessions were happening. Whether it was on a rail,
A box,
or the jumps, something crazy was going on.
The mini-pipe was going off too, the fly out zone on the bottom was perfect today.
The Superpipe was also going absolutely berserk! The Chinese National Team has been guests of HCSC all Summer, and man can they shred the Superpipe. Shawn White better watch himself in 2014!
The Tallest Man at Camp™, Sean Lucy was also shredding the Superpipe when he wasn’t filming all of the action that was happening inside of it. Man that guy is tall. And man is this nose grab stylish.
The Diggers always work so hard to make sure everything in all of our parks are just absolutely perfect. LDOH™ is always a celebration. It’s always the day when the black comes off, and the Hawaiian comes on.
We really couldn’t have asked for a better way to end the Session! The weather was perfect, the snow was soft, and everyone had a killer time!
We Had a First Today…
Friday, July 1st, 2011Today, at High Cascade Snowboard Camp, we had a momentous occasion! Today was the first, and probably, the only time that we ever had a scooter division in the Marshmallow Money Cup™ aka The Contest Formally Known as the Huckleberry Jam™. While the skateboard contest was extremely heated, and intense:
It was actually the scooter division that stole the show! These guys were high flying, and man, they were not messing around at all! Serious action, let us just tell you. It was nothing to scoff at! Look for yourself!
After the contest was all said and done, it was Max, who came out and took the big W. Here he is with Kevin Pearce and Mason Aguirre. He was pumped!
In the end, it came down to one trick, and one trick only to take the win. The infamous double tail whip over the Euro Gap was all that was needed to cinch first place in the 1st annual “Gabe Scooter Division” in the Marshmallow Money Cup™ aka The Contest Formally Know as the Huckleberry Jam™. It was totally insane! Just watch!
We also had our Talent Show™ tonight! Man, campers these days are just so talented!
If you can’t tell what that is, that’s a super crazy yo-yo trick.
This guy’s talent is finding the most ballerest hat at the thrift store ever!
These guy’s did the “Bernie” in these wild animal masks! Wild Style “Bernie”!
The “Bernie” made two appearances during tonight’s talent show. This might have been the biggest one yet this summer! All camp Bernie’s really are hilarious!
These events are both all camp events, where all the campers, and the staff all come together. It really is awesome to see everyone all in one place having tons of fun!
Tomorrow is our last day on hill for Session 2™ and it’s guaranteed to be amazing!
Everyone Hit the Deck!!!
Thursday, June 30th, 2011It’s paintball time!!!! Today, we all went down into the trenches and got down and dirty. Everyone got slimed, and covered with paint. Just like this guy!!!
But really, paintball was totally Awesome™, and we had so much fun!! We had 32 adventurous, brave souls who were ready to enter into the forest, prepared to battle.
The battles were fierce, and the action was non stop! People were coming in from all directions and paint balls were flying in each and every direction.
It was full on trench warfare!!! The teams were the Bands vs. the No Bands. The action was close, but in the end, the Bands won it every single time. Even though the No Band team never won we all still had so much fun!
Activity day™ really is a great day to recharge your battery’s and do something besides snowboarding. After snowboarding all week, it feels real nice to take a day off and get re-motivated to learn tons of new tricks!!! Just wait and see all of the action that goes down tomorrow now that everyone is refreshed and ready to roll!!!
