Session 5 Recap!!!!!

Monday, August 8th, 2011

Here’s what you have all been waiting for… The Session 5 Recap™!

This recap is on point! Check it out and see what exactly went down during the sunniest session that we’ve had all summer. It was sooooooo nice!

Sunshine All Day long!!!

Saturday, June 18th, 2011

Big things happened today at High Cascade Snowboard Camp!!! First of all, it was the sunniest day of the summer. We know that’s not saying much, since it’s only day two on-hill, but boy was it nice to be out in the sun!! Check out how awesome the hill looked today!!

In this photo right here we have K-Unit extraordinaire Kyle Lopiccolo. Man can that dude boost.

Also Signature Sessioner™ Scott Stevens was up on hill doing crazy things over the hip. Scott is one of the most creative snowboarders out there, hands down.

Today was also an exciting day because our Bag Jump opened up today!!!

Check out Camp Director Preston Strout getting inverted on the Bag Jump. What other camp director do you know who can shred that hard?

Adult Camp™ was also on hill today, soaking up rays.

If you are over 21, and you love snowboarding, then Adult Camp™ is for you. You are never too old for Adult Camp™, and you can always make new friends!

After snowboarding today Salomon and Bonfire showed up and hosted a skate park relay race. Campers raced in relay around the street course with suite cases filled with funny clothes. The first team to get all of their members back with funny clothes on won, easy as that. Check out a few photos we snapped of the action!

Signature Sessioner™ Chris Grenier got in on some of the action too

We also went skateboarding today! We had some serious action from Campers,

and Staff! Check out Digger Brandon Hobush destroy the big bow!

Hopefully tomorrow is just as awesome today! We have big things planned for tomorrow! You are going to have to check back to see what we mean!!!

Air Bags & Foam Pits: Better than Broken Glass and Snake Pits

Thursday, January 6th, 2011

Last summer we added an on-hill Air Bag courtesy of The DC Mtn. Lab and an insane off-hill foam pit (foam blocks enhanced by K2 Snowboarding’s “Harshmellow” technology).  Come join us this summer and do some soft jumping.

Here are 3 things that Foam Pits and Air Bags are way better than to jump into:

1.) A Snake Pit.

Not that rad.  Think about it.  Sure, it might be marginally soft and would remind you of Cobra Dogs, but you’re jumping into a pile of fangs.  Even if the snakes weren’t poisonous, the disgusting factor alone is enough to make you wind up in a mental hospital.

2.) A Pile of Broken Recycling Glass

Jumping into the Green Movement is great, but this would be taking things a bit too far.  If the massive lacerations and embedded glass shards are enough to wreck your day – then think about how bad it would sting if even just one of those broken bottles once held lemon juice.  Ahhhhhh!

3.) A Bunch of Puppies

We’d all love to be in a pile of cute little puppies (right?).  Their big round eyes melting your heart and their playful nips keeping you giggling.  The problem here is your entrance.  You need to ease into a pile of puppies, you DO NOT JUMP.  We repeat YOU DO NOT JUMP.   If you hurt even one of those little guys and had to explain what happened to the vet… well, good luck having that one on your conscience.

Check out a quick look at the Foam Pit:

TransAM to Kick Off Saturday: Waterville Valley, New Hampshire

Thursday, January 6th, 2011

HCSC is proud to enter it’s 8th (we think – it’s been so long, we’re uncertain) season as a supporter of the Transworld Snowboarding TransAM.  This low pressure, high fun Mini Park jam format event is sure to please even the most discerning snowboard competitor.

Register online here to partake in the goodtimes.

We’re kicking things off in the Great State of New Hampshire, at Waterville Valley, which holds a special place in the heart of HCSC. Why?  Welp:

DYK? The Head Snowboard Guy at Waterville (parks, marketing, etc.) Luke Mathison was a long time coach for HCSC.

DYK? Waterville’s Marketing Director Deb Moore is Pat Moore’s mom? (former camper turned Signature Sessioner Pat Moore)

DYK? Deb has never been to HCSC, but each season we invite her out to bake cookies at Pat’s session.

Get it? Ginger-bread cookies? Yea... sorry, not that funny.

DYK? This is awesome:
